Lai-Chung Poon was born in Hong Kong, then her family immigrated to San Francisco Bay Area in her teens. Poon moved to Brooklyn in 1999. Her work has a wide range of subject matter, which includes autobiographical narratives, female role in society, technology in art, and the process of art making.
